TOP TIPS WHEN TRAVELING IN PERU:

  1. Tap water is not drinkable
  2. Carry black activated charcoal pills on you in case your stool gets loose.
  3. Use Hostelworld or booking.com for accommodations
  4. CHARLES SCHWAB DEBIT CARD (NO ATM FEES OR FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEES)
  5. Use MultiRed ATM for cash pullouts (no extra fees)
  6. T-MOBILE INCLUDES UNLIMITED INTERNATIONAL DATA USE (No need to change numbers when traveling to different countries!)
  7. Must try: Cuy (guinea pig), inka kola, lomo saltado, lucuma ice cream, pisco sours, chaufa (peruivan x Chinese food)

Located on the famous Lake Titicaca, this was the first city in the south of Peru I visited from Bolivia! Although I had an upset stomach, I was beyond thrilled to be in Peru! Peru felt like the holy land and I was finally reaching the golden gates! I was excited to experience a new culture and liveliness as Bolivia had played its turn. Crossing the border was easy and relaxed as we had to get off the bus and cross by foot!

  • For Peru, we get 90 days as a tourist, and no visa/extra papers are needed! Only your passport! Technically, if you over stay your visa, it's only 1.5 USD per day.
