How to: Chill in Copacabana (& Isla del Sol)
Chelsey’s Backpacking Edition
TOP TIPS WHEN TRAVELING BOLIVIA:
- Do not drink anything that does not come from a closed bottle. Do not eat street food. Eat at clean restaurants and consume a majority of COOKED foods.
- CHARLES SCHWAB DEBIT CARD (NO ATM FEES OR FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEES)
- T-MOBILE INCLUDES UNLIMITED INTERNATIONAL DATA USE (No need to change numbers when traveling to different countries!)
- Carry black activated charcoal pills on you in case your stool gets loose.
Riding on Lake Titicaca, also known as the sacral chakra of the earth, between Bolivia and Peru, you will find a lively little city called Copacabana. It has a vibrant waterfront with boats pulling floaties around all day.
On this waterfront, you can take a tour to any island nearby (I did Isla del Sol), canoe, sit on the sand and watch little kids run around, have a popsicle, read a book, etc. There are multiple roads but one main road with all of the tour options, restaurants, shops, market stands, cafes, and a plaza.
