TOP TIPS WHEN TRAVELING IN PERU:

  1. Tap water is not drinkable
  2. Carry black activated charcoal pills in case your stool gets loose.
  3. Use Hostelworld or booking.com for accommodations
  4. CHARLES SCHWAB DEBIT CARD (NO ATM FEES OR FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEES)
  5. Use MultiRed ATM for cash pullouts (no extra fees)
  6. T-MOBILE INCLUDES UNLIMITED INTERNATIONAL DATA USE (No need to change numbers when traveling to different countries!)
  7. Must try: Cuy (guinea pig), queso helado, inka kola, lomo saltado, pisco sours, chaufa (peruivan x Chinese food)

Place of stay:

  • Selina: This hostel is for sure gorgeous, but the one thing that didn't sit right with me was that in a 12-person dorm, there was a bathroom with one toilet and one shower. Sorta hard when people are getting up at the same time and need to use the bathroom. It is very spacious, you can book tours there, the kitchen is well equipped, and there is free filtered water. The bed was comfy with a private curtain and lockbox. There is a swimming pool, tree house, restaurant, and hammocks. It is an amazing place for digital nomads!
  • Recommended time of stay: 3–4 days (including two days in the Canyon)
