Cartagena: Color, love, food, culture, nightlife, community, and HEAT! What a wonderful city guarded by historic walls and historic architecture. I returned to the city for the second time to explore a bit more and spend time with my lovely parents whom I had not seen for 10 months! Not only did Cartagena rejoice us together beautifully but we were able to discover more of the city together. Cartagena is an easy ride from the United States and quite frankly, a PRETTY affordable city…

Cartagena is known to be the most touristy city in Colombia welcoming us in with friendly engery!

Suggested amount of time: 2–3 days (excluding exclusive resorts out of the walled city)

Must try: cheese arepas sold on the street, the fresh fruit (especially mango) from the street, coco limonada, coconut rice, empanadas, and any pastries that call your name!!

THE PILLOW SPOTS! ❤

Cheap — Viajero Hostel: the SPOT in town for backpackers. Large rooms with AC, fun vibes with daily activities, a bar, a kitchen, and nice staff!

More expensive — Charleston Santa Teresa (5-star hotel): I stayed here the first time I came to the city with my girlfriends. WE HAD A BLAST HERE! Buffet breakfast every day, bar and restaurant on…
