Being okay with nothing

It is okay to not know what to do, what to say, where to go, what to eat, or be anything but sure about your next move.

Being here comes with a wide range of decision-making — for yourself, friends, families, lovers, businesses, etc... We make so many decisions that I genuinely couldn't tell you every decision I make in a single day. Decisions internally and externally; we are always striving to validate our state of being in a way that everybody agrees with the decisions we made. We love to be validated, heard, and of course, praised.

What if the world looked different and the only validation, hearing, and appraisal came from yourself? Would you still be here? Would you be half the person you are? Better or worse?

I once read something that stated validation in a way ruined society because, now, we yearn for someone else's power and approval that we are doing the right thing. We trust others telling us we are on the right track more than we trust ourselves — a shame.

We put pressure on ourselves that we must check everything off the list that we wanted to accomplish or a voice of “failure” arises — failure that we aren’t doing what we are supposed to be doing, leading into this whole tangent of not being good enough.
